That’s not just us blowing our own trumpets, see what clients have said about us. Visitors tell us that of all the ways to experience the Wollemi National Park kayaking is one of the best.
**LATEST UPDATE – 27th March 2020**
Southern Cross Kayaking is now closed for the season.
Ganguddy-Dunns Swamp camp ground is also closed until further notice.
We were so looking forward to operating over the Easter holidays after our long summer closure due to bush fires, but alas, it is not to be.
We wish you and your loved ones all the best as we all navigate these difficult times.
We hope to see you on the water soon. Keep in touch and we’ll let you know as information comes to hand: Sign up here to receive our newsletter, or you can check in on our Facebook page for further updates.
Thanks so much for your patience and support. We hope to resume operations at Ganguddy-Dunns Swamp as usual next season (from the September holidays), and we look forward to seeing you then!
Cheers, Cindy & John.
Check out this fantastic video the National Parks and Wildlife Service have made about Ganguddy (Dunns Swamp) in the Wollemi National park and Southern Cross Kayaking’s operation there. The stunning footage beautifully depicts the magic of paddling at Ganguddy. Come out to see us soon and discover (or enjoy again), the unforgettable experience that is time spent at Ganguddy.
We had a great time on the filming day. Ganguddy didn’t disappoint the production crew, turning on one of those incredible mornings where the mist hung on the water until quite late in the morning before gradually clearing to reveal all of her majestic beauty.
We have a long connection with Ganguddy and have been offering guided tours and kayak hire there since 2012. We don’t know of anywhere else like it; the pristine water of the winding Cudgegong River, spectacular pagoda rock formations, rare native flora and wildlife all make for incredible paddling and we love being able to provide the means for people to experience that.
Kayaking is a great way to access the incredible natural areas of the Wollemi National Park and our presence at Ganguddy helps to raise environmental awareness and respect for this special place. Our business is also unique in that we operate at Ganguddy without mains power – entirely ‘off-the-grid’. It’s taken a while to find the best ways to operate without the use of mains power while still offering a level of customer service expected by our clients. We’ve worked hard to establish a sustainable kayaking operation in the Wollemi National Park.
Your safety and enjoyment are our priorities in any kayaking activity we undertake together.
We haven’t skimped on equipment. We use only current, quality gear chosen for it’s suitability for our activities – not it’s price.
We want your paddling experience with us to be safe, enjoyable and comfortable.
We offer paddling opportunities in areas of natural beauty and historical significance.
We keep our groups small so you enjoy a more personal service, more supervised instruction and a friendly atmosphere.
We have worked with National and State regulators to comply with the most up to date standards of staff training, operations, equipment, safety management and best industry practice.
